What this document is
Solicitud de expedición/renovación/modificación de título de familia numerosa is the Junta de Andalucía application (Código procedimiento: 7) under Ley 40/2003 and Decreto 172/2020. The título certifies large family status and gives discounts and benefits throughout Spain; individual cards (carnés) are issued to family members.
A large family has one or two parents with three or more children; some families with two children count too, for example when one child has a disability or cannot work. The special category (especial) covers 5 or more children, or 4 under the conditions set out in the form; the rest are general. A child with a disability of 33% or more counts as two.
Who applies and where
- either parent, a guardian, a foster carer or another family member with legal capacity living in Andalusia;
- first issue (expedición) when the family applies for the first time; renewal (renovación) within the three months before the título expires; change (modificación) within three months of a new circumstance (a birth, a change of category, a child leaving the family unit);
- where: the Delegación Territorial of your province of residence, any public registry office or the post office, or online on the Junta de Andalucía portal;
- according to the Junta procedure catalogue, the decision period is 3 months and silence means approval.
What the form asks
- type of application and category (general or especial), and the título number for a renewal or change;
- details of the applicant and the second holder: surnames, name, DNI/NIE, date of birth, nationality, marital status, sex, address, phones, disability and incapacity for work;
- up to seven children: names, document, date of birth, nationality, annual income, disability;
- an income declaration by family members over 16 — only when income affects the category or proves financial dependence;
- a responsible declaration (for renewal and change), how to receive notifications, place and date of signing.
What to bring
- copies of the DNI, NIE or passport of every family member who must have one;
- the libro de familia or an equivalent document proving the relationship (for non-EU nationals);
- a padrón certificate for all family members if the Junta cannot check it itself — always needed for children under 14 without a DNI;
- depending on the case: the divorce ruling and agreement, a disability certificate, proof of studies for children aged 21–25, guardianship or fostering documents, the IRPF return.
For non-EU nationals the form asks for the TIE of every family member. The exact list for your case is in the instructions on pages 6–8 of the form.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs
Tell the chat about your family: who the holders are, how many children and their details, and whether you need a first issue, a renewal or a change. FoxDocs puts the answers into the official PDF, splits the address into its boxes, writes nationality in Spanish and adds the Delegación code for your province. Then print, sign and submit.
