What this document is
EX-07 (“Solicitud de autorización de residencia temporal y trabajo por cuenta propia”) is the official application for a temporary residence and self-employment permit in Spain — as an autónomo or through your own company. The same form is used for renewal and for extending the permit to other autonomous communities. The current edition follows regulation RD 1155/2024; three pages: two to fill in and one of instructions.
The initial permit is granted for one year and is limited to one autonomous community and one sector. EX forms are accepted only in the official model: FoxDocs writes your details into the fields of the official PDF without changing its layout.
Who files and where
- the initial permit is filed by the foreign national in person at the Spanish consulate for their place of residence; they sign the form themselves;
- fees on form 790: code 052 (section 2.1.3) and, if the work permit lasts six months or more, code 062 (section 3.3.1); pay within ten working days of filing;
- decision within three months; no answer means the application is refused;
- once approved — one month to apply for the visa in person; the visa is valid for three months; after entry — three months to register with Social Security, then one month to apply for the TIE card at the provincial police;
- for renewal and wider territorial scope, check the conditions, place of filing and fees in the Ministry’s information sheets.
What the form asks
- section 1 — you: passport, NIE (if any), surnames, first name, sex, date and place of birth, nationality, marital status, parents’ names, address, phone, e-mail, legal representative and the school-age children tick;
- section 2 — your business: company name (if a legal entity), NIF/NIE, type of activity, CNAE code, address and contacts;
- sections 3 and 4 — representative for filing and address for notifications, consent to electronic notifications (DEHú);
- section 5 — initial permit (general case, Andorran nationals, cross-border worker), renewal (business continues, other cases, cross-border worker) or extension to several autonomous communities;
- place and date, who signs and the authority the application is addressed to.
Documents usually attached
- the EX-07 form signed by you;
- a copy of your whole passport;
- criminal record certificates from the countries where you lived in the last five years;
- documents on the permits and licences needed to open the business (for small shops and some services — a declaración responsable or comunicación previa);
- proof of qualifications and, for regulated professions, recognition of the degree and professional association membership;
- proof that the investment is sufficient and of job creation (including your own job). This can be shown by a report from one of the self-employed associations: ATA, UPTA, CIAE, OPA or UATAE;
- foreign documents with a sworn translation and legalisation or apostille. Check the full list for your case in information sheet 14.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs
- Tell the chat in any language what you will do, where, and whether you need an initial permit, a renewal or an extension.
- The assistant fills the fields in capitals, splits the date of birth into dd/mm/yyyy, the NIE into its boxes and ticks the right boxes in section 5.
- Download the PDF, check it, sign it and file it with the attachments.
