What this document is
TA.6 (“Solicitud de inscripción en el sistema de Seguridad Social”) is the official form of Spain’s General Treasury of Social Security (TGSS). With it an employer — an individual (empresario individual) or a company (empresario colectivo) — registers with Social Security and receives its first, main contribution account code (Código de Cuenta de Cotización, CCC).
Without a CCC you cannot register an employee (alta) or pay contributions for them. TGSS asks for the registration before the activity starts. For domestic staff TGSS has a different form, TA.6-0138.
Who files and where
- an employer hiring staff for the first time: a sole trader or a company (SL, SA, joint ownership, etc.);
- in person — at the TGSS office (Administración) nearest to your address;
- with a digital certificate — online through the Social Security e-Office (Sede Electrónica);
- according to a notice on the form itself, newly created companies must receive TGSS notifications electronically (Orden ESS/485/2013).
What the form asks
- the Social Security scheme (usually GENERAL), any special system and the registration date;
- the employer: name or company name, trade name, document type and number (DNI, NIE, CIF), and the NSS for a sole trader;
- for a company — the date of incorporation and registry details (volume, sheet, section);
- home address or registered office, phones and e-mail, and the place of activity;
- the economic activity, IAE heading and collective agreement, special cases (temp agency, school, special employment centre);
- who covers work accidents and temporary incapacity (a mutual society or INSS);
- a representative, if someone else files, and the receipt (resguardo).
What to bring
- the identity document of the sole trader;
- the document assigning the tax number (NIF) showing the activity (not needed for domestic staff);
- for a company — the deed of incorporation entered in the registry and the ID of the signatory;
- the representative’s ID and authorisation, if they file.
If something is missing, the form’s correction sheet (Subsanación) gives 10 days to fix it. The decision takes up to 45 days; with no answer in that time the application may be deemed approved.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs
- Tell the chat in any language who is registering, what the business does, where and from what date.
- The assistant fills in the boxes in capitals, splits dates into cells, ticks the boxes and repeats your details on the receipt.
- Download the PDF, check it, print, sign and file it with TGSS.
