What this document is
“Sol·licitud d'inscripció al Registre de parelles estables” is the Generalitat de Catalunya Department of Justice application to enter a couple in the Catalan Stable Couples Registry (tràmit 21032). A stable couple (parella estable) is two people living together as a married couple who meet the requirements of the Catalan Civil Code.
Registration is voluntary and does not create the couple: it records it and needs the consent of both. The official form is an interactive Adobe form (XFA) in Catalan that only opens in Adobe Reader; FoxDocs reproduces its in-person pages and writes your data into the same boxes.
Who applies and where
- both partners together: the in-person form holds the details of both and two signatures;
- the basis is living together for more than 2 years without interruption, or a common child born while living together (if both apply, the form says to choose cohabitation);
- in person at any Generalitat office that registers documents (filter “Registre de documentació i digitalització” in the office finder) or at the places listed in Art. 16.4 of Law 39/2015; by post in an open envelope so the clerk can date and stamp it;
- online, each partner fills in, signs with a digital certificate and sends the form separately;
- you can apply at any time and the procedure is free.
What the form asks
- for each partner: name, two surnames, document type and number (DNI, NIE, passport or foreign ID card), date of birth, marital status, country of birth (and province and municipality if born in Spain);
- phones and e-mail (at least one way of contact), consent to electronic notifications;
- the couple’s address, the basis for registration and, for a common child, the child’s name, surnames, date and place of birth;
- objection to the automatic data check, list of attached documents, data protection consent, place and date.
Documents usually needed
- identity documents of both partners;
- a full (literal) birth certificate of each partner from the Civil Registry, issued no more than 6 months before applying; with dual nationality including Spanish, the Spanish birth certificate;
- a historical certificate of joint municipal registration (certificat d'empadronament de convivència històric);
- if the basis is a common child, the child’s literal birth certificate or the family book;
- if you do not object to the check, the Department obtains the identity document, the padrón certificate and the child’s birth data itself.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs

- The assistant picks the document type, ticks the basis and lists the attachments for your situation.
- Download the PDF, check it, print it, both sign it and submit it with the attachments.
