What this document is
This is a sample letter (หนังสือชี้แจงความจำเป็นจ้างแรงงานต่างด้าว) published by Bangkok Employment Office Area 6 of the Thai Department of Employment. In it the employer explains why and how many foreign workers they need to hire.
The letter is one page in Thai. In the official PDF it comes together with the demand notification form (แบบ นจ.1) and a power of attorney; this FoxDocs document fills in only the letter itself.
Who fills it in and where it is filed
- the employer — a private individual or a company representative hiring foreign workers;
- the form covers two positions: domestic worker (ผู้รับใช้ในบ้าน) and labourer (กรรมกร);
- the letter is addressed to the Director of Bangkok Employment Office Area 6 and expects Bangkok addresses;
- it is usually filed together with the demand notification (แบบ นจ.1); check with the office in which cases it is required.
What the letter asks for
- date of the letter (Buddhist Era year, พ.ศ.);
- employer's name and home address;
- name and address of the establishment if the employer is a juristic person;
- how many foreign workers are needed, the workplace address and phone;
- for a domestic worker — who actually lives in the house (up to 9 people, with ages);
- for a labourer — type of business, premises area and why the work requires foreign workers;
- employer's signature.
Documents usually attached
- the demand notification for foreign workers (แบบ นจ.1);
- copies of the employer's documents listed on นจ.1: for an individual — ID card and house registration (or passport), for a juristic person — company affidavit and directors' documents;
- for a business — supporting documents such as a licence, construction contract or location map;
- a power of attorney if a representative files.
The form does not state the full document list, fees or processing time — check them with the Employment Office.
