What this document is
Modelo 030 is the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) census declaration for individuals. It is used to register in the census of taxpayers, to apply for an NIF if you have neither a DNI nor an NIE, to report a new tax address or an address for notifications, a change of surname or marital status, and to request a new NIF card.
Since 3 February 2025 the version in Annex II of Orden HAC/1526/2024 applies: section 4 lets you subscribe to notices (avisos) not only from AEAT but also from the tax appeal tribunals (TEA) and the Directorate General for Taxes (DGT), and in the AEAT app. FoxDocs builds the form from this version.
Who files it and where
- individuals without a business activity — to register, change the tax address or the address for notifications;
- any individual — to change personal details or get a new NIF card;
- anyone with neither a DNI nor an NIE who has transactions with tax effects in Spain — to obtain an NIF;
- on paper — at the AEAT Administración or Delegación for your tax address, in person or by registered post; booking an appointment (cita previa) is advisable;
- or online on the AEAT website (sede electrónica);
- after a move — within three months; if the income tax (IRPF) return deadline comes first, the new address can be given in the return.
What the form asks
- section 1: reason for filing — registration, change of tax address, address for notifications, change of details, NIF application, change of marital status, new card, notices;
- sections 2–3: declarant and, if filing jointly, spouse — NIF, surnames, name, sex, date and place of birth, nationality, passport, foreign tax number, tax residence;
- section 4: mobile and e-mail for AEAT, TEA and DGT notices, AEAT app;
- section 5: tax address in Spain with the cadastral reference of the property;
- section 6: address abroad (for a non-resident it is the tax address);
- section 7: address or PO box for notifications and the recipient;
- sections 8–10: representative and representation codes, marital status, place, date and signature.
What to bring
- the completed and signed Modelo 030 — both copies (for the Administration and for you);
- passport or NIE; if a representative files — the document proving representation;
- the cadastral reference of the property (IBI receipt, rental contract or sede.catastro.gob.es);
- check with AEAT when booking which supporting documents your reason for filing requires.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs
- Tell the chat in any language what you need: register, change address, get an NIF.
- The assistant ticks the reason, splits the address into the Spanish boxes and asks only the sections you need.
- Download the PDF, check it, sign both copies and file it with AEAT.
