What this document is

Anexo I “Otorgamiento de apoderamientos mediante comparecencia” is an official form of the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT). With it, the grantor goes to an AEAT office in person and enters in the register of powers (registro de apoderamientos) the person or firm who may act for them on the AEAT website: file applications, view data, receive notifications, pay taxes.

The power is given either for specific procedures (code and description from the AEAT catalogue) or for four general groups. It takes effect once entered in the register. FoxDocs fills in the official PDF without changing its layout.

Who files it and where

  • the grantor — an individual or an organisation; for an organisation, its legal representative or a person with authority appears;
  • the form is filed in person at an AEAT Delegación or Administración and signed before an officer, who checks identity;
  • without a visit, the same can be done on the AEAT website with a digital certificate, DNIe or Cl@ve, or by a notarial document;
  • a power to receive notifications only applies once the attorney accepts it: by signing the form under “Representante” at the AEAT office;
  • if the form has a defect, you get 10 days to fix it; revoking a power in person uses a separate form, Anexo II.

What the form asks for

  • grantor: full name and NIF, or the organisation’s name and NIF plus who acts on its behalf and their NIF;
  • attorney: name or firm name and NIF;
  • specific procedures: up to three rows — code, description, end date;
  • general power: items 1–4 (procedures needing the taxpayer’s signature, viewing data, notifications, paying debts from the grantor’s account) and end date;
  • place and date; signatures of the grantor, the attorney (for notifications) and the AEAT officer.

What to bring

  • the completed form;
  • an identity document (NIE/TIE, DNI or passport);
  • for an organisation — proof of authority: articles and appointment of the director, or a notarial power;
  • for a notifications power — the attorney, if they sign the form at the office;
  • check on the AEAT website or at the office whether an appointment (cita previa) or other documents are needed.

Frequently asked questions

Why grant a power of attorney to the AEAT?

So a gestor, accountant or relative can act for you on the AEAT website: file applications, view data, receive notifications.

Can I do it without visiting an office?

Yes: on the AEAT website with a digital certificate, DNIe or Cl@ve, or by a notarial document. This form is for granting it in person.

How do specific procedures differ from a general power?

In the specific section you enter codes of individual trámites from the AEAT catalogue. A general power covers groups 1–4; you may tick any of them.

What does a notifications power require?

The attorney’s acceptance: they sign the form under “Representante”. Without it the power has no effect.

When does the power take effect?

From the date it is entered in the AEAT register of powers until the end date stated in the form.

Can the attorney be a firm?

Yes, the attorney may be a person or an organisation, for example a gestoría. Its name and NIF are entered.

How do I revoke the power?

In person at an AEAT office with form Anexo II, by a notarial document or on the AEAT website.
