What this document is
Mod.24 “Registro de Apoderamientos — Otorgamiento de una representación” is the official form of Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT). With it you (the representado) authorise another person (the representante) to handle specific Tráfico procedures for you, and the representation is entered in the DGT Registro de Apoderamientos.
One form covers up to four procedures from the “Relación de trámites” list (pages 2–3): vehicles, licences, fines and more. According to DGT, setting up a representation is free of charge.
Who files it and where
- on paper the form is accepted at any Jefatura or Oficina de Tráfico by appointment (cita previa) — and only when both parties are individuals;
- if the represented person attends, they show their identity document and the form signed by them;
- if the representative attends, they bring the form signed by both parties and the original identity documents of both;
- without the form, a representation can be set up online at sede.dgt.gob.es (digital certificate, electronic DNI or Cl@ve) or by phone on 060; companies only online;
- validity is set when the representation is created, up to the maximum for the procedure — usually 180 days; it can be cancelled at any time (form Mod.25).
What the form asks for
- representative: full name, NIF/NIE;
- represented person: full name, NIF/NIE;
- up to four procedures: code, name, start and end date, details (atributos);
- place and date; the representative, the represented person and the DGT official sign by hand.
What to bring
- form Mod.24, signed (by both parties if the representative files it);
- identity document of the represented person (DNI or NIE) — original or certified copy;
- identity document of the representative (DNI or NIE);
- appointment confirmation (cita previa).
