STM.1 Certificate of Employment for Foreign Employee

STM.1 (แบบ สตม.1 หนังสือรับรองคนต่างด้าวทำงาน, Certificate of Employment for Foreign Employee) is a letter from a company or partnership to the Commissioner of the Thai Immigration Bureau. In it the employer certifies that it employs a named foreigner and gives details about the business.

The form is bilingual (Thai and English) and has one page. It is usually attached to a foreigner's application to immigration, for example an extension of stay based on employment (TM.7). Check with the office in which cases it is required.

• the employing company or partnership registered in Thailand fills it in;
• according to the remark on the form, it is signed by the owner or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
• the company seal (if any) is stamped next to the signature by hand after printing;
• it is submitted to the immigration office together with the foreigner's application — check the exact office with immigration.

• place and date of the letter;
• company name, where it is registered as a juristic person, head office address;
• the authorised director and the date of the company affidavit (หนังสือรับรอง);
• the employee: title (Mr./Mrs./Miss), name, age, nationality, position, monthly salary, contract period;
• type of business, registered and paid-up capital;
• total revenue in the profit and loss statement and owner's equity in the balance sheet for the statements year (Buddhist Era, พ.ศ.), planned payments to foreign employees for the next fiscal year;
• number of permanent Thai and foreign employees.

• the company affidavit (หนังสือรับรอง) the letter refers to;
• financial statements (profit and loss statement, balance sheet) for the stated year;
• the employee's employment contract;
• other documents the office asks for.
