What this document is
“Certificado de empresa” is the official form of Spain’s State Public Employment Service (SEPE). In it the employer confirms its own details, the worker’s details, the reason the job ended, was suspended or reduced, and the contribution bases for the last 180 days.
According to the form itself, it proves the legal situation of unemployment (situación legal de desempleo) and determines the amount of the benefit. False data is penalised under Real Decreto Legislativo 5/2000.
Who files it and where
- the employer — a company or an individual the person worked for — fills it in and signs it;
- according to the form, companies send this data to SEPE through the Certific@2 application (Orden TIN/790/2010) on the day the job ends or, at the latest, the day after the worker asks for it;
- if the data was sent through Certific@2, the worker does not need to attach the certificate to the benefit claim; if not, the paper certificate goes with the claim to SEPE;
- check the procedure for your case with SEPE.
What the form asks for
- who signs and in what position;
- employer: name, Social Security scheme, contribution account code (CCC), address, business activity (CNAE);
- worker: full name, DNI or NIE, Social Security number, contribution group, contract type and duration, occupation, start date;
- distribution of working days — part-time contracts only;
- reason code and wording from the 01–35 table on the back, termination or suspension dates, ERTE number and reduction percentages;
- monthly contribution bases for the last 180 days and unused paid holidays.
What to have at hand
- recent payslips (nóminas) — the days and contribution bases come from them;
- the employment contract and the dismissal or end-of-contract document;
- the contribution account code (CCC) and the employer’s Social Security registration details;
- the worker’s DNI or NIE and Social Security number.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs
- Tell the chat, in any language, who the employer and the worker are and when and why the job ended.
- The assistant picks the reason code from the SEPE table, splits the address and names into the right boxes and enters the monthly bases.
- Download the PDF, check it, write in the TOTAL row, sign it and give it to the worker or to SEPE.
