What this document is
Form B (แบบ ข., "คำร้องขอจดทะเบียนหย่า", Application for Registration of Divorce) is a joint application by both spouses asking the Registrar to register their divorce under the Thai Civil and Commercial Code. This version of the form is printed for the Royal Thai Embassy Oslo.
It is a one-page bilingual form: the Thai text is authoritative, the English in brackets is a translation.
Who files it
- spouses whose marriage is registered under Thai law and who divorce by mutual consent;
- as a rule at least one spouse is a Thai national; the embassy registers divorces within its consular district.
Whether your case fits (for example, without mutual consent or for a marriage registered outside Thailand) — check with the embassy: a contested divorce goes through a court, not this form.
What the form asks
- for the husband ("Male" column) and the wife ("Female" column): name, nationality, present address, age and date of birth;
- the marriage registration: registration office, registration number and date;
- signatures of both spouses — by hand before the Registrar.
The registration number, filing date and divorce register number are entered by the embassy.
What is usually brought
- passports of both spouses; for the Thai spouse also the Thai ID card and, if available, the house registration (ทะเบียนบ้าน);
- the original marriage certificate (ใบสำคัญการสมรส, Kor Ror 3);
- a written divorce agreement (child custody, property) if the embassy requires one;
- witnesses if the embassy requires them.
