What this document is

“Comunicación de salida al extranjero” is a form of Spain’s Public Employment Service (SEPE). It is filed by people receiving unemployment benefit who plan to leave Spain: for a short trip, for up to 90 days, or to move abroad for less than a year.

The departure must be reported in advance. According to the form, if it is not reported (and, where required, not authorised by SEPE), the benefit ends (extinción).

Who applies and where

  • A — trips adding up to no more than 30 days in the calendar year: the benefit keeps being paid, but you must report the departure and later your return;
  • B — more than 30 and up to 90 days in the calendar year: payment is suspended and prior SEPE authorisation is needed;
  • C — moving abroad for less than 12 months to work or look for work, for international cooperation or professional training: payment is suspended if SEPE authorises it;
  • the form is filed with SEPE before leaving; it has a space for the stamp of another public body’s registry. Check sepe.es on whether it can be filed online.

If someone else files it for the recipient, they need the recipient’s written authorisation and copies of both DNIs.

What the form asks

Type of departure (A, B or C) and, for a move, its reason; departure date; the recipient’s name and DNI/NIE; details of anyone filing on their behalf; the declaration tick; remarks; place and date of signing. The “Autorización” and “Motivo denegación” boxes are completed by SEPE.

What to bring

  • the recipient’s DNI, NIE or TIE;
  • if someone else files — the recipient’s authorisation and copies of both DNIs;
  • evidence of the purpose if you move under option C — it will be required on your return to resume the benefit.

How to fill it in with FoxDocs

Tell the chat where you are going, for how long and how many days you have already spent abroad this year. It picks the type of departure, ticks the matching declaration and writes the data into the official SEPE PDF without changing its layout.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to report a trip of a few days?

Yes. Even a short trip, if your days abroad stay within 30 in the year, must be reported to SEPE in advance; the benefit is not suspended.

What happens if I leave without reporting it?

According to the form, leaving without prior notice (and without authorisation where it is required) ends the benefit.

Do I keep the benefit on a two-month trip?

A stay of 31 to 90 days in the calendar year suspends payment if SEPE authorised it in advance. Payment can be resumed after you return.

How do I resume the benefit after returning?

Within 15 working days of your return, register as a jobseeker and apply for resumption (reanudación).

How do I prove a move for work or training?

With job-search evidence, form U1 or a certificate from the Government Delegation/Subdelegation about the job, or a certificate from the training centre or cooperation organisation.

Can I receive the benefit while looking for work in another EU country?

Yes, by exporting it: after at least four weeks registered as a jobseeker, it can be exported for three months (extendable by three) with form U2 from your SEPE office.

Can someone else file the form?

Yes, with the recipient’s written authorisation and copies of both DNIs. Their name and DNI/NIE go in section 1.
