What this document is

The “Solicitud de certificado de depósito de fianza de arrendamiento en régimen general” is a bilingual (Basque and Spanish) Basque Government form. With it, the Bizilagun service issues a certificate that the deposit (fianza) under a lease has been lodged with the Basque Government.

The applicant boxes on the form are for an individual: ID, name and surnames. You give the deposit number if you know it; if not, you attach a full copy of the signed lease.

Who files and where

  • the landlord or the tenant under the lease — in person or through a representative;
  • someone not named in the lease who took over its rights (an heir, a new owner) — with a supporting document;
  • addressed to the Basque Government, Bizilagun service;
  • the form is printed, signed by hand and handed in at the offices listed on the procedure page; electronic filing with a digital ID is also available.

What the form asks for

  • applicant: DNI, NIE or other ID, given name, both surnames, and whether you are the landlord or the tenant;
  • a representative, if one signs;
  • the deposit number and what the certificate is for;
  • language, notification channel, postal address for letters, e-mail and mobile for alerts;
  • the province of the rented property, the list of attachments, place and date of signing.

What to bring

  • a full copy of the signed lease, if you do not know the deposit number;
  • proof that you took over the lease rights, if you are not named in it (registry extract, deeds, inheritance papers);
  • proof of representation, if a representative signs;
  • a copy of your passport, if you have neither a DNI nor an NIE.

How to fill it in with FoxDocs

  1. Tell the chat, in any language, about yourself, the lease and why you need the certificate.
  2. The assistant writes the data in capitals, splits the address into the boxes and adds the date with the month in Spanish.
  3. Download the PDF, check it, sign it and file it with the attachments.

Frequently asked questions

What is this certificate for?

It officially confirms that the deposit under your lease has been lodged with the Basque Government. You state on the form why you need it.

Who can request it?

The landlord or the tenant under the lease. Someone not named in the lease who took over its rights attaches a supporting document.

I do not know the deposit number. What now?

Leave the box empty and attach a full copy of the signed lease — the form requires it.

How will I get the answer?

Electronically (you need a digital certificate or B@kQ) or by post — then you fill in a postal address. You can get an e-mail or SMS alert about a notification.

Can a representative file it?

Yes. Fill in the representative section and attach proof of representation; a template is on the Bizilagun website.

I have neither a DNI nor an NIE.

Give your passport number and attach a copy of your passport — the form provides for this.

How do I submit the form?

Print it, sign it by hand and hand it in at the offices listed on the procedure page, or file it online with a digital ID.
