What this document is
Mod.07 “Solicitud de traslado de expediente o de anulación de citación” is the official form of Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) for driving test candidates. It covers two procedures: transferring the exam file (traslado de expediente) and cancelling a test appointment (anulación de citación).
You need the transfer if you change driving school, leave it to sit the tests on your own (“por libre”) or the other way round, and want to keep your remaining attempts without paying the exam fee again. Cancellation is for when you cannot attend a scheduled theory or practical test for a justified reason: a no-show counts as “NO APTO” and uses up an attempt.
Who files it and where
- the candidate or a person they authorise — through the DGT Registro de apoderamientos or with the “Otorgamiento de representación” form (Mod.24) stating that the representation is free of charge;
- in person at a Jefatura or Oficina de Tráfico with an appointment (cita previa online or by calling 060); online through the Registro Electrónico with an electronic DNI, a digital certificate or Cl@ve;
- a cancellation is filed with the Jefatura or Oficina de Tráfico that scheduled the test;
- a transfer is possible to a school in the same or another province if the file has not expired and there is no pending scheduled test; if a test date is already set, cancel it first.
What the form asks for
- applicant: DNI/NIE, date of birth, licence class you are taking, e-mail, surnames and given name;
- representative (if someone else files it): DNI/NIE, surnames, given name and capacity;
- for a transfer: number, section, check digit and name of the new driving school and, if your address has changed, the new address in the DGT boxes;
- for a cancellation: driving school details, test date, which test (theory, or practical — manoeuvres area or on-road), reasons and the list of supporting documents;
- place and date — the signature is handwritten.
What to bring
- the completed and signed Mod.07 form;
- for a transfer — the receipt or payment number of fee 4.1 (€8.67 according to the DGT on the date checked); at the office you can pay by bank card, not in cash;
- for a cancellation — documents proving the reason; a private medical certificate is accepted if it shows the doctor’s name, surnames and registration number;
- identity: in person, a valid DNI or passport; EU citizens — their national ID or passport with the registration certificate (Registro Central de Extranjeros); non-EU citizens — their residence permit.
Fee and timing
- file transfer — fee 4.1, €8.67; cancelling a test appointment — free of charge (DGT data on the date checked);
- one paid exam fee gives two attempts; after two failures or no-shows you need a new application and a new fee — then no transfer is needed, the new school opens a new file;
- a passed theory test is valid for two years from the day after you passed; the medical report in the file stays valid after a transfer;
- the DGT does not guarantee a processing time: you are notified by e-mail; for registry filings the filing date counts.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs
- Tell the chat in any language what you need — a transfer or a cancellation — and your details.
- The assistant ticks the right procedure, enters the driving school details and splits the address into the DGT boxes in capitals.
- Download the PDF, check it, print, sign and file it at Tráfico or attach it to your online application.
