What this document is
“Sol·licitud de còpia de la cèdula d’habitabilitat” (RE-906) is the application to the Agència de l’Habitatge de Catalunya for a copy of a valid cèdula d’habitabilitat, first or second occupancy (procedure 22170). The cèdula certifies that a dwelling is fit to live in; a copy is needed when the original is lost or another copy is required.
The form is in Catalan, one page. It also contains a responsible declaration (declaració responsable) of how the applicant is related to the dwelling.
Who applies and where
- the owner, a tenant, an attorney-in-fact or a representative — holding a document that proves it;
- on paper — private individuals only; self-employed people, professionals, companies and organisations must apply online;
- in person, by prior appointment (cita prèvia): in Barcelona at the Consorci de l’Habitatge de Barcelona, elsewhere at local housing offices that process cèdulas or at Agency offices;
- there is no fee; you can apply at any time;
- copies are issued only for a cèdula that is still valid.
What the form asks
- applicant: NIF/NIE or passport, full name, address, phone, e-mail;
- owner: ID (NIF, CIF, NIE), name or company name, address, phone, e-mail;
- the applicant’s relationship to the dwelling: owner, tenant, attorney-in-fact or representative;
- a copy for one dwelling (cèdula number and address) or for several on list RE-907; place and date.
What to bring
- the applicant’s identity document;
- proof of the link to the dwelling — nota simple, lease or power of attorney: in the form you declare that you hold it;
- the cèdula number if known — it can be looked up on the Agency’s website by cadastral reference;
- for several copies — the completed list RE-907.
