How to fill in PF joint declaration of continued union: your options

FoxDocs is one of several ways. Choose the one that suits your case.

  • Official route

    Submission: Attached to a family reunion residence request filed with the Polícia Federal. Agency: Brazilian Federal Police (Polícia Federal). It publishes the form and the requirements — check them before you submit. If the agency runs its own online service, it may be the most direct way.

  • Fill in the PDF yourself

    Download the official form and fill it in by hand or in a PDF editor. It costs nothing; you work out every field, date format and script on your own.

  • Through an agent or intermediary

    A agent or lawyer fills in and often submits the document for you. Their fee applies; it helps when the case is complicated or you need someone to represent you.

  • With FoxDocs

    Cards with a hint for every field, in your language, or data from a photo of a document. Every value appears in its place on the original form, and you download the PDF. Filling the form yourself is free; the chat assistant and the AI check are priced per document. FoxDocs does not submit the document and does not give legal advice.

What this document is

“Declaração conjunta de ambos os cônjuges ou companheiros, sob as penas da lei, a respeito da continuidade de efetiva união e convivência” is a model of the Brazilian Federal Police (Polícia Federal, PF) under “Declarações e Formulários” (file dated 25/01/2021). It is used in the residence procedure for family reunion (reunião familiar).

The chamado (the applicant) and the chamante (the spouse or partner being joined) jointly declare that they are married or live in a stable union (união estável) and have lived together “desde” — since a given date. The form carries a printed warning about Article 299 of the Penal Code (false statements in a document).

Who files it and where

  • both sign it: the chamado and the chamante, each by hand;
  • the signed declaration is attached to the request filed with the PF together with the other documents;
  • the PF may verify the information about cohabitation;
  • check the full document list for your legal basis on the PF website.

What the form asks

  • for each of the two: full name, nationality, marital status, date and city of birth;
  • names of each one’s father and mother (filiação);
  • the date since which the couple has lived together (“convivência desde”);
  • city, UF and date of signing; two handwritten signatures.

What to bring

  • the declaration signed by both;
  • passports or the documents used in the request;
  • a marriage certificate or proof of the stable union, as listed by the PF for your basis;
  • check the exact list on the PF website.

How to fill it in with FoxDocs

  1. Fill in the cards on this page — each field has a hint.
  2. The assistant takes your data from your profile and asks only for what is missing; a long name is carried over to the second line.
  3. Download the PDF, check it, print it; both sign by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fill in PF joint declaration of continued union online?

Yes. FoxDocs fills in the original “PF joint declaration of continued union” form online: answer cards with hints (or add a photo of a document), check the values on the form and download the PDF. You submit it yourself: Attached to a family reunion residence request filed with the Polícia Federal.

Who signs the declaration?

Both: the chamado, who applies for family reunion residence, and the chamante, the spouse or partner in Brazil. The form has two signature lines.

Does it work for a união estável without marriage?

Yes. The declaration reads “somos casados ou convivemos em união estável” — married or living in a stable union.

Which date goes in “convivência desde”?

The date since which the couple has lived together. It need not be the marriage registration date: cohabitation may have started earlier.

Which marital status for a união estável?

The status shown by civil records. A stable union does not change it: without marriage it is usually “solteiro(a)” unless the person is divorced or widowed.

Is this declaration enough on its own?

No. It is one of the papers of the procedure; check the full list for your basis on the PF website. The authority may verify the information given.

What happens if the statement is false?

The form warns that inserting false statements in a document is a crime under Article 299 of the Brazilian Penal Code, punishable by imprisonment and a fine.

In which language is it filled in?

The form is in Portuguese; data is written in Latin capital letters as the form requires. FoxDocs writes the nationality in Portuguese for you.
